INTEGRATED GOLF
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (E,D&I) Policy – How it will affect our Members
The Management Team have signed off the E,D&I Policy which will broaden opportunities for members to enter competitions during each week of the season. These changes will take effect from the beginning of July 2024.
These changes relating to ‘Integrated Golf’ are being adopted by many golf clubs nationally, this is new for all of us, so if we need to refine and improve the format, we will review and take into account feedback from our members.
HOW IT WILL AFFECT YOU:
- Men and Ladies may compete in competitions held on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays;
- Fundamentally little will change, you can play with whomever you wish, booking on BRS as is currently the case;
- On Wednesdays, Ladies will have an allocated 1 hour slot for 9 or 18 hole comps (11.30 to 12.30) but can play at other times of the day if its more convenient;
- Majors will remain separate for Men and Ladies, but standard competitions will be open to all members.
FOR SUNDAY AND WEDNESDAY COMPETITIONS:
- The first week of each month will be set aside for Individual Medal competitions (this occasionally may need to accommodate a Ladies Major on Weds or Sunday which will be dealt with by exception);
- The remaining weeks of the month will be Individual Stableford competitions;
- The current mixed Stableford will be absorbed into this competition format with Sam sponsoring £100 for best Stableford score at the end of the season;
- 9 hole Stableford competitions will be available to Men and Ladies on each Wednesday with a separate winner for Men & Ladies. The Ladies will retain their existing playing slot for their 9 hole competition.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Fees:
- All 18 hole competitions will be the same fee of £5 for 18 holes and £2.50 for 9 hole competitions.
Divisions for 18 hole competitions:
- There will be winners across each of the divisions on Saturday, Sunday & Wednesdays;
- Division 1: handicap up to 12;
- Division 2: 13 to 24;
- Division 3: 25 and above.
For Warren Cup and Mary Cooper Trophy (MCT):
- Ladies will be able to qualify for Warren Cup & MCT in all Stablefords and Medals (excluding majors in each). The competition conditions will be modified to reflect these changes;
- The £5 comp fee will cover all entry costs, no additional registration fee will be required. Anyone who has already paid a registration fee will be refunded.
Future Mixed Major:
- Sam is planning to introduce a mixed major competition in 2025.
